Note to Group from Ms. W - You have a decent start here, but not all have contributed (and must do so). If you choose to polish this up for your portfolio, you'll want to be more specific (i.e."he takes past events in the women's movement" -- name some!). You'll also want to explain the end of the article a little more. Be sure as well to get rid of biased or opinionated language.
Warner Todd Huston tries to explain that feminism is now a joke and is pointless in todays culture in the article "feminism Has Become Silly, Maybe Even Dangerous" Oct. 26, 2005. In this article he takes past events in the women's movement and claims that they were important then, and were worth the fight and hassle of the movement. But he conveys that events that are happening today are not as important as they were then. He gives a silly example of how a highschool in New Hampshire decided to stop calling the 9th grade class freshmen and just call them 9th graders. They stoped using this words because it had the word "men" in it and they thought it was demeaning to women. Some of the other comments and examples people in the article use are stupid and pointless. There still bring this sexist controversy back when it is already solved and is in the past. Women now make up over 56% of Americas colleges.
